Is Ed Boon teasing a new Mortal Kombat reveal at E3 2018?

Mortal Kombat kreator creator, Ed Boon, has teased a new Mortal Kombat game in a recent tweet.

When asked about more Injustice 2 content for this year, Boon wrote, “You know what ELSE would be kool…..?”

Sure, it could be a typo, but it’s doubtful — as we did ourselves above, NetherRealm seems to have an unhealthy obsession with the letter K when it comes to Mortal Kombat.

Boon later took to Twitter in a playful mood, responding to reports of the tease.

“No offense but Mr Boon does this so frequently that a tease like this is kind of meaningless….if you took every Ed Boon tweet seriously, wed be playing Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks 8 by now. Starring Funky Kong,” Boon first wrote, quoting a conversation on GameInformer.

“I am so offended by… actually he’s got a point,” the developer wrote.

If a new Mortal Kombat game (or even Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks 8) is in the works, we’re likely to hear of it at E3 2018, to be held over 12-14 June in Los Angeles.

The latest Mortal Kombat game, Mortal Kombat X, is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
