Battlefield 5 might feature a battle royale mode too

Battlefield V looks to be adding a battle royale mode to the mix, a recent report suggests.

This one comes via VentureBeat, which reports that developer DICE is currently prototyping the mode.

An anonymous source says Battlefield’s version of battle royale would be similar to offerings like Fortnite: Battle Royale and PUBG. The source continues to say that DICE is making sure the mode actually works with Battlefield’s normal functionality, and that the mode won’t necessarily be available at launch if it’s seen to fall short.

DICE is also open to releasing the mode as a standalone, free update, the source continues.

We’ll be hearing more of Battlefield V at E3 2018, but will keep you posted if we learn more before then. This news comes as a battle royale mode is also rumoured for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
