Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Siberian setting will have Lara dealing with the cold, animals

Speaking with Game Informer, Crystal Dynamics’ Brian Horton has unearthed some new details regarding Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Horton said the setting of Siberia is very important to the upcoming game, forcing Lara to deal with cold, snow and vicious animals.

Said animals can be hunted by taking advantage of tracks left in the snow, though falling snow will cover them up with time. A fully dynamic weather and lighting system also means different animals will appear at different times of the day, conditions permitting.

It won’t all be snow and ice; Horton said another location will provide contrast to Siberia’s conditions.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will first appear on Xbox 360 and Xbox One sometime this year.
