Respawn’s Zampella head of DICE LA, working on unannounced game

Respawn’s Vince Zampella has moved over to DICE LA and is working with the studio on an unannounce game, the LA Times reports.

Calling himself a “head coach” for Respawn, Zampella is keen to establish a unique identity for DICE LA.

“We will probably rebrand,” Zampella said. “We want to give it a new image. We want people to say, ‘This is a destination you can go and make new content.’ I think they’ve kind of gotten the branding that they are the support studio for DICE Stockholm. I think rebranding is important for showing people, ‘Hey! Come work here. We’re going to do some amazing things.’”

In Zampella’s absense, Respawn’s narrative-driven work will be managed by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order‘s Stig Asmussen, Apex Legends will be headed by Chad Grenier and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will be helmed by Peter Hirschmann.

We’ll have more on DICE LA’s unannounced project — and name change — when it’s made available.
