Respawn wants Star Wars Jedi to become a trilogy

Cal's story continues in Jedi Survivor... but may extend beyond that.

Respawn wants its Star Wars Jedi titles to form a trilogy, director Stig Asmussen recently said to IGN.

Speaking with the outlet, Asmussen said Jedi Fallen Order protagonist Cal Kestis was always thought of in terms of a multi-game story arc.

“We were already talking about the second game [in 2019],” he said. “I mean, frankly, we were talking beyond. And these are conversations that, when we’re breaking this story with Lucasfilm, it’s like: ‘Well, where are we going with the second game?'”

We’ve got the answer to that question: Cal returns in April’s Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Beyond that, though, Asmussen said he’s always “wanted to see this as a trilogy”. If sales of Survivor go well, we’re likely to see that third — and perhaps final — version.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor heads to Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5 on 28 April.
