Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 Switch 2 releases confirmed

The rumours were (partially) true.

Resident Evil Requiem will release on Switch 2 at the same time it does on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, Capcom announced overnight, also confirming that Resident Evil 7 will head to Switch 2 on the same day.

“The announcement came with a brand-new story trailer and brought players deeper into the twisted web of horror awaiting Grace Ashcroft as she investigates the Wrenwood Hotel including a glimpse of new antagonists, weapons, and locations players will encounter,” Capcom said of Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline title in the long-running franchise.

Requiem and Resident Evil 7 will both head to Switch 2 on 27 February 2026, the same time Requiem is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

“On February 27, 2026, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition will also release on Nintendo Switch 2, including the full game, the ‘Not a Hero’ chapter, and all additional DLC,” Capcom added. “Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will also be available featuring the Winters’ Expansion and the Trauma Pack.”

Rumours suggest that Requiem and Resident Evil 7 are just the first in a series of RE Engine-developed titles that will head to Switch 2. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

Expect Resident Evil Requiem from 27 February 2026 on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch 2. Resident Evil 7 heads to Switch 2 on the same day; it’s already available on Windows PC, select Macs, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS5, (sort of on) Switch, and select iOS devices.
