Resident Evil 7: New PC patch allows for play on older CPUs

A new patch for Resident Evil 7 increases the likelihood that you’ll be able to play the horrific title on your aging Windows PC.

The patch no longer uses your PC’s SSSE SIMD instrcution set to recognise your processor, meaning older CPUs have an increased chance of compatibility.

Capcom has not updated the game’s minimum PC specifications with this change.

Resident Evil 7 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Check out our definite list of guides here.
