Relax! Resident Evil 3 Safe Rooms really are safe

Relax, guys and girls — Resident Evil 3 Safe Rooms truly are safe, Capcom has confirmed.

Much like Resident Evil 2‘s Safe Rooms were safe from the predatory Mr. X, Capcom’s said that Resident Evil 3 Safe Rooms cannot be penetrated by the once-titular Nemesis. The publisher had to make the confirmation after a report from Official Xbox Magazine suggested that Nemesis could follow protagonist Jill Valentine into what was once considered a safe haven.

Turns out, Official Xbox Magazine stuffed up, thinking a room with a “progress-saving typewriter” was a Safe Room and not just, you know, a normal room with a typewriter. As in the past, true Safe Rooms have their own musical cues to tell you that you’ll be safe.

Resident Evil 3 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 3 April.
