Report: Nintendo management want Iwata out and Mario on smartphones

A new report by Japan’s Business Journal (as translated by NeoGAF) alleges that Nintendo management wants to give company President Satoru Iwata the boot over his reluctance to put popular characters like Mario on smartphones.

This isn’t the first time that Nintendo’s floated the idea of putting their franchises on iOS, Android and maybe even Windows Phone, nor is it the first time that Iwata has flat-out refused.

Would you like to play Mario on your iPhone? How about Pikmin on Android?
