Set those alarms if you want some cool merch.
Remedy Entertainment has detailed its 30th anniversary celebration plans, and chief among them is what could be a final iam8bit Oh Deer Diner thermos drop. The trouble is, that drop will take place overnight — again — here in Australia.
“Alan Wake fans can look forward to the return of the enormously popular Oh Deer Diner thermos, with fresh releases like the Cold Casey lunchbox and Night Springs VHS,” Remedy said in a press release. “The Oh Deer Diner thermos bottle, created in collaboration with the Finnish manufacturer Airam, is making a spectacular, and very likely final (final), comeback as part of the collection, so fans will have to turn off bullet time and act fast to secure their own.”
The potentially final thermos drop will go live on iam8bit from 2.00 am AEST on 21 August, so those who’ve yet to secure one (myself included) will need to decide if they’re setting an alarm to try again. If you’re not in Australia and need to see that drop time in your own timezone, you can check here.
If you’re doing so, you can head here and wait things out.
Also on offer is a collection of Alan Wake materials called Design Works, and an extensive set of iam8bit merch that spans Control and Alan Wake.
“We started making video games in a basement in Espoo, Finland, likely because we wanted to escape the long and dark Finnish winters,” said Remedy co-founder Markus Mäki.
“We found the secret ingredient: an ocean’s worth of coffee, a lot of curiosity, and even a larger dose of passion. Those have kept us going and brought us to this moment, 30 years later. The offices have improved, and the coffee machines even more so. We remain curious and passionate about creating memorable experiences, and we’re eager to see where that takes us. Above all, we are incredibly grateful to all of our fans taking this trip with us (and for coffee).”
Happy anniversary, Remedy!
