Original Xbox backwards compatibility starts today with 13 games

Original Xbox backwards compatibility on Xbox One will be available later today with an initial 13-game library, Microsoft has recently confirmed.

There’s a decent list of games to try out, too — check ’em out:

  • Black
  • BloodRayne 2
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
  • Dead to Rights
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • The King of Fighters Neowave
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Psychonauts
  • Red Faction II
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

The list above includes the initial list of five games rumoured to be available. Those rumours? Yeah, they started yesterday. Microsoft is flying!

If you have a disc copy of any of the above, simply pop it into your Xbox One and you’ll begin the backwards compatible download process. If you’ve (understandably) not held onto your old Xbox discs, you’ll be able to buy any of the titles above digitally — they’re going for about $10 USD each.

Get excited, but don’t forget that the games don’t support Achievements, nor widescreen support. They’re old-school.

Which games are you most keen on revisiting?
