Release date, amiibo skins confirmed for Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy +

Bandai Namco today confirmed release date and amiibo skin information for the upcoming Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy + on Nintendo 3DS.

Planes in the game will be tied to specific amiibo figures, each unlocking new skins.

“The iconic Mario will be tied to the F-22, which is one of the most famous and powerful aircrafts in modern time and is well-balanced for both aerial and ground attacks,” Bandai Namco confirmed. “Mario’s eternal rival, Bowser, will be collaborated with the A-10A, which is most powerful aircraft for ground attack. Durability and offensive power will be increased to shape Bowser’s aircraft into a formidable aerial tank!”

Mario’s skin is shown off in the screenshots above.

Other amiibos confirmed to work in-game include Donkey Kong, Zelda, Captain Falcon, Samus and Bandai Namco’s own Pac-Man. It’s not said exactly what each amiibo will unlock.

We’ll find out soon enough, as Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy + will be available from 19 February on 3DS.
