Red Dead Redemption heads to current-gen in early December

Xbox Series, PS5, and even Switch 2.

Red Dead Redemption will head to current-gen systems — Xbox Series, PS5, and Switch 2 — on 2 December, offering a free upgrade for those who own the title on last-gen.

The new current-gen versions of the title will support 60 frames-per-second, HDR, and resolutions “up to 4K”.

“On Nintendo Switch 2, we’ve taken full advantage of this new hardware with support for DLSS, HDR, mouse controls, and the same fluid 60 frames per second gameplay at high resolution,” Rockstar Games advised.

Those who own the title on PS4, Switch, or Xbox 360 (backwards compatible on Xbox One) will be able to upgrade digitally for free. Moreover, Red Dead Redemption will also be added to the PlayStation Plus library at the time of its release, 2 December.

We mistakenly reported that Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to current-gen, when the original Red Dead Redemption is the title being upgraded in December. We apologise for the mistake.
