Red Dead Online announced by Rockstar Games

Red Dead Online is Red Dead Redemption 2‘s multiplayer component, Rockstar Games today confirmed. It won’t be available at launch, but users will get a chance to try it out in a beta scheduled for November.

Much like GTA Online, Red Dead Online will offer narrative, cooperative and competitive gameplay, available in solo or multiplayer play. It will be offered to those who’ve purchased Red Dead Redemption 2.

The beta, scheduled for November, doesn’t have a set date as yet, but Rockstar said it will be publicly available.

“As with most online experiences of this size and scale, there will inevitably be some turbulence at launch,” Rockstar advised. “We look forward to working with our amazing and dedicated community to share ideas, help us fix teething problems and work with us to develop Red Dead Online into something really fun and innovative.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 26 October.
