Rainbow Game Jam returns for its 5th year later this month

The Rainbow Game Jam will return for its fifth consequtive year over 15-29 August, its organisers have declared.

Supported by Out Making Games, the event is now accepting sign ups via Itch.io, here.

“Since we started Rainbow Game Jam, it has been so incredible to see our community come together to tell their stories, share their experiences and create awesome games. We are so excited to see what our community does this year,” reads a statement from Kirsty and Steven, the event’s co-organisers.

“We’re excited to support this year’s Rainbow Game Jam, and look forward to inviting our network of LGBTQ+ industry talent to participate,” added Michael Othen of Out Making Games.

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
