Rage 2 picks frame rate over 4K

Rage 2 has prioritised frame rate over 4K, id Software has recently confirmed.

On base Xbox One and PS4 consoles, Rage 2 will run at 1080p and 30 FPS (frames-per-second), and 1080p and 60 FPS on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. Over on Windows PC, the frame rate is uncapped.

“We went for speed over 4K for the enhanced consoles,” id Software’s Tim Willits told Hardcore Gamer, explaining the studio’s decision.

Closer to home, Rage 2 is sponsoring the VISSLA Sydney Surf Pro event running between 16-24 March.

“New York based artist Jason Woodside is transforming nine surfboards into truly unique and exclusive collector items inspired by the game. These nine surfboards will be auctioned across the nine days of the VISSLA Sydney Surf Pro competition, with all money raised being donated to SURFAID and the SMILE LIKE DRAKE Foundation,” Bethesda has informed us.

Those who’d like to bid on a board can do so here.

Rage 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 14 May.
