Radical Heights is the new battle royale game from Boss Key

LawBreakers developer Boss Key will release a new battle royale game on to Steam Early Access called Radical Heights, it has today advised.

The new game is being hyped by the studio as “a free *X-TREME Early Access* battle royale shooter” and will be available either later today or tomorrow here in Australia.

It’s key difference when compared to other games in the genre is that Radical Heights will make more use of vehicles. It also handles in-game cash in a different way.

“Partake in high-stakes battle royale gunplay in a sunny SoCal dome as contestants drive-by on BMX bikes or stalk other contestants from the shadows in search for weapons and prizes,” the game’s Steam page details.

“But also cash that you can bank–win or lose! Whether you spend that cash on righteous customization in your personal prize room or pull it from an ATM to purchase weapons early in the next game–building a wealth of cash is as important as taking down the competition in this irreverent 80s-themed action game show where everyone wants to be rich and famous.”

Speaking with IGN, Boss Key said the cash mechanic would make for some interesting action. “Your in-game cash wallet always starts at $0 when you enter the match (for every player). Taking out cash takes time and effort, leaving you vulnerable while you do so. Simply put: this leaves you very vulnerable … you can get shot in the back!”

A $10,000 cash advance was originally offered as part of the game’s $14.99 USD Founder’s Pack, but has since been retracted.

Last week, Boss Key said it would suspend development of LawBreakers to work on a new title — looks like we didn’t have long to wait to hear about it.
