Quake Champions to get in-game bots

Quake Champions will soon add bots to the mix, developer id Softworks has confirmed.

The upcoming in-game bots will be used for those who wish to practice before battling with other, real-world players. The feature will be quite useful for those new to the game or wishing to learn the ins and outs of a new Champion before using them in real play.

Moreover, bots will backfill slots in proper matches as needed.

You can learn more about Quake Champions‘ bots in a new video featuring Community Director, Joshua Boyle and Technical Director, John Dean.

Dean says the game’s bots will be able to do trick jumps and AI difficulty s adjustable. Moreover, the bots will avoid powerful weapons no matter their difficulty setting.

It’s important to remember the bots don’t constitute a proper offline mode for the shooter — an internet connection is still required to play.

Quake Champions is expected to hit a full release version this year on Windows PC.
