The PSN is down & The Chaser is blaming the Liberal Party

The PlayStation Network is down and has been for most of the afternoon.

The PSN status page says most PlayStation services are down, save for PlayStation Music. That means PS Vita, PS3 and PS4 players will have trouble with the following:

  • Account Management: Signing in, account creation, editing account details
  • Gaming and Social: Launching games, applications or online features
  • PlayStation Video: Accessing content
  • PlayStation Store: Buying, downloading, browsing and searching for content; redeeming codes

Soooo basically everything is down. Enjoy!

Comically, satire site The Chaser has published a ‘report’ which suggests the Australian NBN is currently down as Aussies are too busy hitting refresh to see how our Prime Minister is. Coincidence? Yes, wholly — but come on: you’ve got to laugh at times like this, eh?

The status page was last updated at 4.01pm AEST. We’ll let you know when things change.

About the author

Steve Wright

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
