“Incorrectly classified” PS4 copies of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected undergoing a product recall in Australia

Deep Silver has just issued a statement in regards to Saints Row IV: Re-Elected on PS4 in Australia. And it’s a biiiig whoopsie.

“Unfortunately over the weekend, it has come to light that the PlayStation 4 retail release of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected has a serious manufacturing issue and a nationwide recall is now underway in Australia,” the statement begins. “A manufacturing issue has caused an incorrectly classified version of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected for our territory to be released. This strictly affects PlayStation 4 retail versions.”

While it’s unclear from the statement above as to exactly what’s in the PS4 release that shouldn’t be, it would appear that Australia probably received the uncensored, international version of the game rather than the censored version that made it to our shores. Saints Row IV was originaly refused classification twice before being released in the country.

“All customers who have purchased the PlayStation 4 version of Saints Row IV: Re-Elected are encouraged to return to their retailer for a full refund,” the statement continues. “Replacement copies with the correct content are on order and will arrive with retailers soon.”

If you’ve purchased a PS4 copy of Re-Elected, will you be voluntarily returning it for (essentially) a full replacement of the censored version?

We’ll update this story as we learn more.
