Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow won’t use restore points on the 3DS

Serebii.net reports that upcoming Game Boy Virtual Console titles Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow will not offer the same 3DS restore points as with other Nintendo titles.

Serebii says the the restore point system, usually in place to allow for saving and restoring at any point in a Game Boy Virtual Console game, has been disabled to prevent exploits that would allow users to duplicate Pokémon.

Moreover, access to the Virtual Console and 3DS Home menus while using Battle or Trade features will also be restricted for the same reason.

Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow will be available from 27 February.
