Original story: Pokémon Quest will head to Nintendo Switch and smartphones, Nintendo has today revealed.
Quest is the first of two Pokémon games planned for this year, Nintendo today revealed at a press conference held in Japan.
The Pokémon Twitter account described the game as “free-to-start,” adding that “you can face off against wild Pokemon and embark on many exciting expeditions.”
The simplistic-looking title has a top-down view, as shown below.

The game will take place on Tumblecube Island and lets you “battle wild Pokémon, gather treasure, and even befriend new Pokémon — if you have the right ingredients, that is!”

“Special items called Power Stones” will strengthen teams, the Twitter account continues.
The title will let you team up with up to three Pokémon. Players will also be able to transfer Kanto region Pokémon caught in Pokémon Go into Quest, Nintendo has also confirmed.
Pokémon Quest is available right now on Nintendo Switch and heads to smartphones in June.
