Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire coming to 3DS in 2014

Nintendo today announced that remade versions of Game Boy Advanced’s Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire will be available on 3DS this year.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which launched in 2003 and were fan-favourite hits on the Game Boy Advance system,” The Pokémon Company said of the remakes.

It’s unclear what “a fresh take” means, but it’s assumed that the titles will take on the same 3D, polygonal look-and-feel as Pokémon X and Y, released last year on 3DS.
