Pokemon Go Fest in-person events coming to several major cities

Auckland is on the list, but no Australian cities have (rightly) made the cut.

Pokemon Go Fest will offer a number of real-life, in-person events in cities across the world, though a majority of them are within the heavily vaccinated Europe and the United States of America.

On the Asia Pacific front, the only in-person event will be held in Auckland, New Zealand.

A full list of in-person Go Fest cities is as follows, with events running between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm local time on 17 July:

Europe

  • Linz, AT
  • Dresden, DE
  • Essen, DE
  • Hamburg, DE
  • Sevilla, ES
  • Paris, FR
  • Warsaw, PL
  • Bristol, UK
  • Edinburgh, UK
  • Liverpool, UK
  • London, UK

United States of America

  • San Francisco, CA
  • Denver, CO
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • New York City, NY
  • Nashville, TN
  • Austin, TX
  • Seattle, WA
  • Washington, D.C.

Asia Pacific

  • Auckland, NZ

A limited number of in-person tickets will be available at each of the cities listed above; you can register here for a place. You’ll also need to purchase a $5 USD in-game ticket to take part. The event will not offer any additional in-game rewards; everything is handled through the in-game ticket regardless of your location.

Developer Niantic advised it will start to roll back changes made as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in areas that are vaccinated and returning to a pre-pandemic state. Users have already flocked to petitions to try to stop said amendments.

Pokemon Go is currently available on iOS and Android devices.
