Pokemon Go Apple Watch support ends in July 2019

Pokemon Go Apple Watch support will cease on 1 July, developer Niantic has recently confirmed.

After 1 July, those with an Apple Watch will no longer be able to pair the device with Pokemon Go in order to track steps for buddie Candies and egg hatching. The reason why? Adventure Sync on an iPhone does just that without the need for a second device.

“Because Adventure Sync allows Trainers the option of tracking their steps, earning Buddy Candy, and hatching Eggs in one mobile device rather than 2 separate devices, we want to focus on building Adventure Sync so that Trainers will no longer have to split their gameplay between 2 devices,” Niantic advised.

Pokemon Go is available now on iOS and Android devices.
