Pokemon Go adds Beast Balls, in-person raids

Though remote raids are here to stay!

Pokemon Go has added Beast Balls in addition to in-person raids, though developer Niantic has confirmed that remote raids will still be available to players.

“We have no intention right now of removing remote raiding for the regular tiers of raiding – one, three and five-star raids – but we haven’t been shy about the fact we’re looking at oppurtunities for players to get playing in person again,” Niantic told Eurogamer.

In-person raids were reintroduced as part of Community Day.

Moreover, Niantic will release a new Pokeball — the Beast Ball — for three in-person gatherings to take place in Berlin, Seattle and Sapporo in the coming months. While the Beast Balls be exclusive to those cities initially, it’s very likely they’ll eventally roll out to all and be used to capture Ultra Beasts.
