Pokémon games are heading to the Nintendo NX

Speaking with the Wall Street Journal, The Pokémon Company President Tsunekazu Ishihara has confirmed that Pokémon games will appear on the upcoming Nintendo NX console.

Core Pokémon titles have skipped Nintendo’s home consoles in favour of handheld offerings, but that doesn’t look to be the case in Nintendo’s next-generation.

“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device,” Ishihara said. “We will make games for the NX.”

The next Pokémon games, Sun and Moon, will be available on Nintendo 3DS from 18 November.

We’ll have more as this develops.
