Playable April Fool’s 2024 experiences include Dead by Daylight, Among Us

It’s 2 April here in Australia, so you know what that means: it’s time for April Fool’s 2024 jokes elsewhere on the planet. Yay. No matter what you feel about the day, it looks like only two games have provided playable April Fool’s 2024 experiences this year: Dead by Daylight and Among Us.

First, Dead by Daylight will offer up “My Little Oni” between 12.00 pm AEDT today, 2 April, until 12.00 pm AEDT on 4 April.

“Towering over Survivors like a bloodthirsty Kaiju is The Oni, who is now bigger and badder than ever,” developer Behaviour Interactive said of the limited time mode. “As for our Survivors, who are now up against a colossus, not only do they feel smaller—they are smaller. Don’t worry, they can still reach and work on the Generators to try and escape, but that’s pretty much the only thing they can reach.”

Players will be able to choose between standard Dead by Daylight matches or “My Little Oni” from the main menu.

Next, Among Us will offer up a special long neck mode that runs between 2-9 April here in Australia.

According to devs, it’ll feature long necks, a special kill animation, an updated ejection, and of course, the choice to toggle the mode on and off. You can get a small taste of what to expect below.

There are a bunch of non-playable April Fool’s 2024 jokes out there; we’ll gather them all up for you in a second.

Have fun — and be a bit skeptical of everything you read today, Aussies!

Among Us is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch, iOS and Android. Dead by Daylight is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch; it’s also available through Xbox Game Pass.
