PGA Tour 2K23 MyCareer gameplay showcased in new video

And it's our video!

As part of a recent PGA Tour 2K23 preview opportunity, Stevivor was able to create a MyCareer gameplay video that shows you what you can expect.

Full disclosure: I’m currently on holidays in Italy, so rather than re-treading old ground, let’s just direct you to my earlier Topgolf preview that details swing mechanics and changes to HB Studios’ PGA Tour 2K21 formula.

With that out of the way, I will say this: I started MyCareer in amateur difficulty, just like I played through its PGA Tour 2K21 counterpart, and found it like slipping into a very cherised, comfortable pair of shoes. There’s challenging difficulties above where I played, perfect for die-hards, but I don’t know why you’d want that. The courses look beautiful and there’s something zen to be had in just belting a ball and crushing your AI counterparts and rivals.

Just like Tour 2K21 before it, HB Studios still hasn’t mastered player models; they’re very uncanny valley and have some strangely robotic moves. At the end of the day, though, it doesn’t matter as the actual golfing is mint.

I was lamenting the lack of commentary from Luke Elvy and Rich Beem in my Topgolf preview, and I’m happy to report they’re back alongside Henni Koyack and John McCarthy. The four-person commentary team adds a lot of flavour to the mix, though I’ve already heard some repetitious lines alongside new takes on what it’s like to be a golfer in the age of social media.

With that out of the way, I’ll let the gameplay speak for itself; it’s below.

PGA Tour 2K23 heads to Windows PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5 on 14 October.
