PewDiePie to quit YouTube in 2020

PewDiePie has announced he will quit YouTube for a period of time, taking “a break” from the video-on-demand service next year in light of a new harrassment and bullying policy that’s been instated.

“I am taking a break from YouTube next year. I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind,” PewDiePie, otherwise known as Felix Kjellberg, said in a new video.

“I’m tired,” Kjellberg continued. “I’m feeling very tired. I don’t know if you can tell. Just so you know, early next year I’ll be a way for a little while. I’ll explain that later but I wanted to give a heads up.”

PewDiePie’s been under the microscope for a number of years, criticised for racist outbursts and seen as a figurehead for the alt-right. Will you be sad to see him go in 2020?
