PAX organiser ReedPOP acquires Gamer Network

PAX organiser ReedPOP today announced it has acquired Gamer Network and its stable of outlets including Eurogamer and VG24/7.

The full list of publications under the Gamer Network banner includes GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer, RockPaperShotgun, USgamer, Outside Xbox, VG247 and Digital Foundry. Moreover, Gamer Network also runs two of the UK’s biggest video game expos in EGX and EGX Rezzed.

All Gamer Network staff will remain in their current roles, GamesIndustry reported, while Simon Maxwell has been promoted from COO to MD of Gamer Network and VP of ReedPOP UK. Gamer Network CEO Rupert Loman will remain in place to help develop ReedPOP’s global game strategy.

ReedPOP organises a number of PAX expos, Comic Cons and other events around the world. Here in Australia, ReedPOP is the organiser behind Oz Comic Con and PAX Australia.
