Paramount+ tiered subscriptions head to Australia in November

Premium offers 4K, HDR streaming across four concurrent streams.

Paramount+ will launch a tiered subscription system, and Australia will be one of the first countries to be transitioned in mid-November.

Starting 16 November, Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico will gain access to a Premium tier, which provides for 4K UHD, HDR10 streaming alongside Dolby Vision. Users will also be able to watch four concurrent streams (as compared to two right now in Standard).

With the new features comes a price hike — while Standard is $9.99 AUD per month, Premium will be offered for $13.99 AUD per month, or $124.99 AUD annually.

An advertising tier will roll out later in 2024.

“After expanding our footprint to more than 45 markets last year, we are focused on scaling our business and providing customer choice,” said Marco Nobili, Executive Vice President, and International General Manager for Paramount+.

“Following the launch of the Mobile plan in Mexico and Brazil, the introduction of the Premium and Ad-supported plans will give us the ability to better serve different consumer segments by providing multiple pricing options while also tapping into tremendous opportunities among our advertising and brand partners.”
