Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk the cover star of NHL 26

The back-to-back Stanley Cup champion celebrates.

The Florida Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk has been named the cover star of the upcoming NHL 26, NHL and EA Sports have today revealed.

The back-to-back Stanley Cup champion will grace the cover of the yearly sports title’s standard edition, though it’s unclear if any additional cover stars will be named.

“He’s a tone-setter, a leader, and now a cover star, EA said in its announcement. “Matthew Tkachuk is the face of [NHL 26].”

The news comes as EA has also confirmed a larger look at NHL 26 on 7 August here in Australia.

The 27-year-old American began his NHL career with the Calgary Flames before he was traded to the Panthers in 2022. Since then, he and the Panthers have won the Stanley Cup in the NHL’S 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

This will mark latest appearance of a Panther on the cover of an EA Sports NHL game since John Vanbiesbrouck back in 1997.

We’ll have more on NHL 26 as it’s made available. The title is planned for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
