Palworld’s Pocketpair being sued by The Pokemon Company, Nintendo

It's finally happened.

After months of suggestion, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have finally filed a lawsuit against Palworld creator Pocketpair.

The patent infringement lawsuit was filed after Pokemon Company and Nintendo said they’d “take appropriate measure to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to Pokémon” back in January of this year.

“This lawsuit seeks an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages on the grounds that Palworld, a game developed and released by the Defendant, infringes multiple patent rights,” Nintendo said in its announcement of the lawsuit.

“Nintendo will continue to take necessary actions against any infringement of its intellectual property rights including the Nintendo brand itself, to protect the intellectual properties it has worked hard to establish over the years,” the publisher continued.

We’ll keep you informed as to the progress of the suit.

Palworld is currently available on Windows PC, Mac, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, and is likely in production for PS5.
