Overwatch: Tomorrow’s Insurrection in-game event is set 7 years ago

A leaked, French trailer has today outed most of the details of Overwatch‘s next in-game event, “Insurrection”.

Scheduled for release very late tonight, “Insurrection” is set seven years ago and features a whole lot of Omnics. A special PvE game mode will be offered between 11 April and 1 May, letting players fill the shoes of Reinhardt, Tracer, Torbjörn and Mercy on the King’s Row map. You can see Tracer’s new skin above.

“For a limited time, we go back and offer to relive one of the key moments in the history of Overwatch,” a translation of the trailer’s description says.

“Rally your friends and accompany Tracer in his first mission during the King’s Row insurrection, our new co-operative shock or discover the origins of some of your favourite heroes with more than 100 new objects for Overwatch: Insurrection including models, Entries, emotes, tags! Overwatch archives have been declassified, but this will only last until May 1st.”

Translations of flavour dialogue inside the trailer itself include Soldier 76 saying, “London was attacked”, “King’s Row has fallen” and “We’re almost in a state of civil war”.

Lead Character Artist, Renaud Galand, has called the event “one of the best thing[s] we have worked on since launch.”

Blizzard has yet to properly detail the event; we’ll have more as it’s known.
