Outlast 2 refused classification in Australia due to implied sexual violence

An implied rape scene in Outlast 2 has led to the Australian Classification Board (ACB) refusing classification for the title.

The “depiction of implied sexual violence” means Outlast “therefore cannot be accommodated within the R18+ classification category and the game is therefore Refused Classification,” the ACB wrote in a report brought to light by Kotaku Australia.

Outlast 2‘s demo received an R18+ classification from the board late last year.

Outlast 2 was planned for late April release on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Warner Bros. is distributing the title here in Australia.
