North Americans get Heracross, Pinsir and Mega Evolutions for Pokémon X and Y

From 13 August until 17 September, North American 3DS users will be able to catch Pinsir and Heracross over the 3DS’ wireless connection.

Pinsir is a bug-type Pokémon available in X, and Heracross is a fighting-type available for Pokémon Y.

Moreover, those who pop into GameStop can pick up a special code that will allow either Pokémon to evolve into its Mega Evolution. Pinsir owners will receive a code for Pinsirite, which lets the Pokémon’s Mega Pinsir evolution happen, while Heracross owners get Heracronite to do the same.

The promotion seems to be in advance of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, both available on 3DS from 21 November.

No word yet on Australian availability.
