Nordic Games rebrands as THQ Nordic

Late last week, Nordic Games rebranded itself as THQ Nordic.

“Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name,” the publisher said.

“Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than “owning” a highly competitive portfolio of IP. We cherish them, and align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve.”

In the wake of THQ’s collapse, the then-Nordic acquired several franchises like deBlob, Destroy All Humans, Darksiders and Red Faction.

THQ Nordic said it’s currently hard at work on 23 different game projects, with 13 not yet publicly announced. A majority of those titles are based on former THQ-owned IP. As you’d expect, the publisher said formal announcements on many of those titles are coming soon.

We’ll keep you posted.
