Nintendo’s Code Name: STEAM pits Abraham Lincoln against aliens

Nintendo today announced their newest IP for 3DS: a turn-based strategy game that pits Abraham Lincoln versus an alien invasion.

We kid you not.

Developed by Intelligent Systems, the game is described as a cross between an RTS and a third-person shooter. The idea of the combo is to make turn-based games more accessible.

The fighters you control in Code Name: STEAM have boilers and literally run on steam, using up the resource to perform attacks.

Did we mention the game is in the vein of steampunk? Cause it is.

Code Name: STEAM — that’s an acronym for “Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace”, by the way — will head to 3DS in 2015.
