Nintendo: We won’t support Twitch streaming on Wii U cause it’s not fun to watch

In an interview at E3 with Polygon, Nintendo America head Reggie Fils-Aime said Twitch streaming won’t be coming to Wii U as it’s not fun to watch.

“We don’t think streaming 30 minutes of gameplay by itself is a lot of fun,” Fils-Aime said. “Your specific question of just purely streaming gameplay, what we’ve got to think through is, so what’s fun about that? From a consumer standpoint, what’s fun about it?”

That doesn’t mean Nintendo won’t work with Twitch via other streams (pun intended).

“We’re looking to do a lot of great things with Twitch,” he asserted. “The Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 that we’re executing through Twitch is doing fantastic numbers.”
