Nintendo wants to bring amiibo figurines to iOS

Speaking with IGN, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto said the company is keen to bring its amiibo figurines to smartphones.

“There’s nothing we can announce today but It’s certainly an area we’re interested in, and today Apple announced some new news about their NFC technology,” Miyamoto said.

“Until the announcement this morning there wasn’t a whole lot we could do, but now we can look at what they’ve said and how we might have an opportunity to use that.”

Nintendo’s amiibo figurines are currently supported on Wii U, New 3DS and on older 3DSes using a special adapter.
