Nintendo Switch: Joy-Con controllers detailed; amiibo and screenshot support at launch

Nintendo today detailed the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers.

The right Joy-Con will house an NFC reader for amiibo support, while the left Joy-Con has a share button that will be used at screenshots for launch. Nintendo has confirmed that the button will support videos in time.

Additionally, the right Joy-Con has an AR camera that will detect objects and the distance it is away from the controller. The left controller was shown with some type of haptic feedback, mimicing ice being dropped into a glass. The Joy-Cons were also used like Wii controllers, simulating a tennis racket.

The Joy-Cons will also come in different colours — Neon Blue and Neon Red.

We’ll have more on the Nintendo Switch as its made available.
