Nintendo Switch: The handheld won’t support StreetPass or Miiverse

Nintendo has confirmed that the hybrid home-handheld Switch will not support StreetPass or Miiverse.

StreetPass, a popular staple of the handheld 3DS family of consoles, will not be continued with Switch, Nintendo’s David Yong confirmed with VentureBeat. Yong suggested that the Switch’s home console (half-) background means it wouldn’t suit.

“We’re not going to be using Miiverse for Nintendo Switch,” Yong added, saying that other social media platforms will be instead used to share screenshots and, eventually, videos recorded with the Joy-Con’s share button.

We previewed the Switch earlier today.
