The Nintendo Switch 2 release date has been set for 5 June and the console will cost $699.95 AUD, Nintendo has today confirmed.
In addition to a new Switch 2 Pro controller and a new game in Mario Kart World, the new console will also offer Switch 2 versions of popular titles including Mario Party Jamboree (though that latter title isn’t available until 24 July).
Jamboree will offer enhanced versions of mini-games, with some using the optional Switch 2 peripheral.
Nintendo also confirmed that those who already own Mario Party Jamboree on the original Switch can pay a free to upgrade to the Switch 2 version.
A Switch 2 version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land will also be made available, Nintendo confirmed. So too will Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and Pokemon Legends Z-A.
Nintendo has not confirmed what Switch 2 version upgrades will cost consumers, though Zelda upgrades have been confirmed to go free to those with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription tier.
In addition to the console being sold for $699.95 AUD, a bundle that includes Mario Kart World has been priced at of $769.95 AUD.
