Nintendo Direct scheduled for overnight tonight in Australia

Let's have two surprise shows!

An oft-rumoured Nintendo Direct will be taking place this week, and likely sooner than you think. Nintendo has today confirmed that its latest livestream will take place from midnight tonight here in Australia.

That’s 12.01 am AEST on Wednesday, 14 September just for those keeping score. You can find your own timezone here if AEST isn’t doing it for you.

The event is roughly forty minutes long and will be “mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter,” Nintendo also confirmed. It’s happening on YouTube; a video embed is below.

We don’t know what to expect as yet, but rumours suggest that Nintendo will be announcing both The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD remasters for the Switch.

We’ll have all the news for you early tomorrow morning, so don’t worry if you can’t stay up for the show.

Steve Wright

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
