Nintendo Direct all about the original Switch coming overnight

No Switch 2 here.

A surprise Nintendo Direct all about games for the original Switch will take place overnight, Nintendo has confirmed.

Just to clarify: the livestream will not detail anything about the Switch 2 — that’ll take place in a separate Nintendo Direct planned for next week on 3 April. All games in this overnight direct will be about the Switch, and those games will be backwards compatible on the Switch 2.

With that out of the way, players can expect the Direct from 1.00 am AEDT on 28 March here in Australia. You can check your own timezone right here.

“Watch this Nintendo Direct featuring around 30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch,” the publisher said. “There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.”

We’ll be back to report on headlines tomorrow. In the meantime, what do you hope to see from this Direct?
