New Tomb Raider game coming, built in Unreal Engine 5

Get excited!

A new Tomb Raider game is coming and is being built in Unreal Engine 5, Crystal Dynamics has revealed.

The studio’s announcement comes at the official launch of Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5, with Crystal Dynamics also confirming that the game has “just started development”.

Crystal Dynamics furthered that this newest title will use Epic’s engine to provide “next-level storytelling and gameplay experiences”. Days Gone‘s Jeff Ross has also joined the studio to serve as the title’s design director.

The latest Tomb Raider game was 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the conclusion of a new, three-part reboot experience.

We’ll have more on the next Tomb Raider game as it becomes available… but that said, don’t expect it to release any time soon.
