New tanks, game mode heading to World of Tanks

Wargaming yesterday announced that more German tanks and a new battle format will soon be added to World of Tanks.

“Update 8.9 will introduce the Team Battle mode, significantly adding to the competitive component of the game,” said Mike Zhivets, Producer on World of Tanks. “The new combat scenario will allow tankmen to form teams and master their tactical skills, fighting against players with similar level of expertise.”

Update 8.9 will introduce a number of German Tank Destroyers, ranging from Tier 4 to Tier 10. Tanks include the likes of the Marder III, the Tier 6 Nashorn and more.

The update will also add a new North American setting battle arena and the Encounter battle mode for the Erlenberg.

A release date for the update was not detailed.
