New Star Trek Infection trailer avoids question of release date

"Coming soon" may mean 11 December on both Meta Quest 3 and Steam PC VR.

A new Star Trek Infection trailer is light on new information, and dodges the question of when it will actually release.

As I’ve noted previously over on TrekMovieInfection may have — or have been targeting, at least — an 11 December release date, at least according to an automated translation of a Bloober Team investor report. It should be noted, however, that earlier automatic translations of the same report were phrased in a way that could have suggested the title would be showcased on 11 December. That scenario makes perfect sense as 11 December is the same day as Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards 2025.

I’ve approached Bloober Team, Broken Mirror Games, and Played With Fire for comment on the matter, with no one yet able to comment. I’ll keep at it, of course.

That same investor report also suggests Star Trek Infection will release simultaneously on Meta Quest 3 and Steam PC VR, though current promotional materials still say that Meta Quest 3 will come first, followed by a Steam PC VR release “very shortly after”. Again, I’ve not been able to secure further comment on the matter.

“You’re a Vulcan Starfleet officer, sent on a special mission aboard the U.S.S. Lumen, but something has gone horribly wrong,” the trio have stated about Infection in the past. “There’s no crew in sight, and an unknown entity has infested the ship. Now it’s inside your body, physically mutating you, unlocking dangerous new abilities at the cost of your sanity.”

Expect Star Trek Infection “soon”. We’ll update this story as we learn more.
