New Need for Speed coming in 2022

And that's about all we know.

A new Need for Speed game will be released in 2022, though that’s about all we know about the title.

Well, that’s not technically true; EA did announce the title back in 2020, shuttering Ghost Games and shifting staff over into Criterion in the process. Since that time, EA has acquired Codemasters and merged Criterion with Codemasters Cheshire as well.

So while we know who’s making it — and that the game is out this year, according to a recent investor communication that had the confirmation  — that’s truly all that EA has dropped about the newest in the franchise. A recent tweet from EA doesn’t help matters much either.

“You think they’re ready, [Need for Speed]?” reads the simple tweet.

While details are certainly scarce, we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
